April 8, 2015 - SDS To Provide Simulation, Training, and Exercise Support to Headquarters United States Air Force Deputy Chief of Staff for Strategy, Planning, and Requirements

SDS International (SDS) has been awarded a contract to support Headquarters United States Air Force Deputy Chief of Staff for Strategy, Planning, and Requirements (HQ USAF/A5/8) and other Air Force organizations in the conduct of its mission for operational strategy concept development, operational/regional politico-military analysis, capabilities assessments, war and mobility planning, and requirements development. Under this contract, SDS will support the USAF Simulations, Training, and Experimentation (STE) program that includes the planning and execution of USAF Title 10 wargames, Unified Engagement, and Futures Game. Unified Engagement and Future Games are Air Force Chief of Staff wargames designed to study operational challenges from the perspectives of a Joint Force Commander. Specific support requirements include providing subject matter expertise in Wargaming, USAF Air-Sea Battle Implementation, Modeling and Simulation Support, Exercise Support, Live Virtual Constructive Operational Training, and War and Mobilization Planning.

The STE program is focused on wargame support that is used in developing and integrating operational strategies, organizational concepts, policies, and plans to support the Warfighter’s employment of Air, Space and Cyber power and supports the establishment of USAF strategic goals, priorities, plans, and long range concepts. The resulting operational strategies, wargame results, and organizational concepts, policies, and plans impact weapon systems requirements, procurement, and training requirements. By studying a timeframe at the end of the Future Years Defense Program, the full range of Doctrine, Organization, Training, Materiel, Leadership, Personnel, Facilities and Policy solutions can be considered for addressing capability gaps.  Other areas supported by the STE program are USAF corporate strategic planning, the Quadrennial Defense Review, preparing senior AF leaders for investment opportunities, and review of innovative concepts for future aerospace capabilities.
